Hidden Gems: Other videos worth seeing right now
Yes, everyone in D.C. has been focused on the pulled David Wojnarowicz video from the NPG’s Hide/Seek exhibit, but there are at least 3 other video exhibitions still worth seeing right now. As a side observation, it’s interesting to me that a video has caused so much controversy when we aren’t exactly a city whose art scene is rife with video. Round 2: D.C. Gets An Art Fair, Again →
City Paper reports on what will be D.C.’s second attempt at an art fair in September 2011. The (e)merge art fair has “serious” backers including the Rubells and Conner Contemporary, but it will remain to be seen whether local galleries are still nursing a hangover from ArtDC 2007.
