Saturday Pick: Winston Yu & Amy Domingues play Diebenkorn

What could possibly be better than spending your Saturday enjoying a performance from local musicians Winston Yu (violin) and Amy Domingues (cello) at The Corcoran in the Diebenkorn Ocean Park exhibit. They have created new compositions specifically inspired by this show.

I’ve written before about Winston’s video art project called 52 Videos and you probably know Amy from her other musical collaborations with local stalwarts Brandon Butler, Mary Timony, Benjy Ferree and more.

I think this is going to be an absolutely stellar show within a show. If you haven’t already spent some time w/ Diebenkorn, I suggest you get there early and really allow yourself to meditate on his work before the music takes you over.

Free, Saturday, August 25, 2012, from 2:30-4pm at The Corcoran Gallery of Art.
