Culver City galleries had a few art openings last night. My two favorites: Paul Kopeikin Gallery (disclaimer: I’ve bought work from Paul in the past) and Luis de Jesus Gallery.
The photo above is of Paul and artist Amy Ross whose show at Kopeikin was one of New American Paintings’ “Must-See Shows” for November in Los Angeles. I LOVED her watercolors of wolves and wolf-soldiers which brings a delicacy to the strange truths of transformation in times of war.
Also, Mara de Luca’s work at Luis de Jesus Gallery blew my mind! Her abstract landscapes are effortless pieces that conjure veils, mists and washed-over hues of a Southern California skyline or coastline. Mesmerizing.
Check both out while you can!
