Get Sketchy at Transformer and Hillyer

Transformer’s exhibit features sketchbooks by 16 DC-area emerging artists, which will be displayed on shelves and available for audiences to flip through or spend more leisured time with in the gallery. Artists featured: Erin Boland, Yelena Bryksenkova, Mei Mei Chang, Bradley Chriss, Oreen Cohen, John Deamond, Stephen Gibson, Elizabeth Graeber, Felipe Goncalves, Khanh Le, Emilia Olsen, Chul Beom Park, Adrian Parsons, Ben Tolman, Jenny Walton, and Stephanie Williams.

See my previous post on the Sketchbook Project by Art House Co-Op which contains almost 10,000 Moleskine cahiers from sketchers all around the world. The collection which will show at Hillyer Art Space here in DC will eventually become a part of the Brooklyn Art Library collection.

Sketch at Transformer: April 2 - May 2

The Sketchbook Project at Hillyer: April 15 & 16

The Sketchbook Project Coming Next Month to Transformer

Art House Co-Op organized this cool project whereby they sent Moleskine Cahiers (5.25 x 8.25 in.) to willing participants whose only job was to fill them up with drawings, collages, whatever works of art they wanted. The thousands of entries they received were catalogued and will go on tour as a library collection.

The Sketchbook Project will be coming to Hillyer from April 11th through 30th.
