The D.C. Docent

Saturday Picks: Megatronics and Magic

You know I love me some alliteration, and especially on Saturday. Let the unseasonably warm day/night airs of this weekend take you to future fantasies and missing dimensions.

DAY AGENDA:

Porch Projects proves yet again that DIY gallery projects in DC are almost never boring with Megatron’s Dead a collaborative show by Bonner Sale, Samuel Scharf and Zac Willis and which celebrates the deceased leader of the Decepticons with likely eulogies, graveyard remembrances and who knows what other awesome shenanigans. Pour one out for your Transformer homies.

Saturday, February 25, 4-7:00 pm with remembrance speech at 5pm. Email porchprojectsdc@gmail.com for directions. One night only!

NIGHT AGENDA:

Curator’s Office brings the sexy with Dawn Black’s The Magic Foxhole, an assembly of ink, gouache, and watercolor that recalls fairy tales, the prim and proper, furtive glances and double-entendres. Or at least that’s what just went through my head when I looked at her work online.

Opening reception Saturday, February 25, 2012, 6:30 - 8:00pm. Exhibit runs through March 24. 1515 14th St., NW, 2nd Floor.
